Age is counted as on 1 April of the recruitment year.
You can apply for the vacancies of one State/UT only, and appear for the test only once.
There is no inter-state transfer before 5 years of service.
Relaxations are not cumulative. Current SBI clerical staff cannot apply.

Tests other than English are offered in English, Hindi and the language(s) of the State/UT applied for. Prelims has no minimum marks; Mains needs a minimum aggregate (5% lower for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD and ex-servicemen). Trained SBI apprentices get 5 bonus marks out of 200 in Mains.

How many vacancies are there in SBI Clerk 2026?
7,680 regular vacancies across the States/UTs in the advertisement, plus backlog vacancies listed separately. SBI says the numbers are provisional.
What is the age limit for SBI Clerk?
20 to 28 years as on 1 April 2026: born not earlier than 2 April 1998 and not later than 1 April 2006. OBC get 3 more years, SC/ST 5 and PwBD 10, 13 or 15 by category.
Can final-year students apply for SBI Clerk?
Yes, provisionally. If selected, you must show that you passed graduation on or before 31 December 2026.
Is there an interview in SBI Clerk?
No. Selection is on Mains marks, followed by a qualifying local language test for those who did not study the language in 10th or 12th.
Is there negative marking in SBI Clerk?
Yes. One fourth of the marks of a question is deducted for each wrong answer in Prelims and Mains.
When is SBI Clerk Prelims 2026?
The advertisement says Prelims is tentatively in September 2026 and Mains in November 2026. Applications closed on 31 August 2026.
