Tier 2 Session II (same day): DEO skill test of 8,000 key depressions an hour (15,000 for DEO in three specified offices); LDC/JSA typing test of 35 words a minute in English or 30 in Hindi, for 10 minutes. Both are qualifying.

What is the qualification for SSC CHSL?
12th pass from a recognised Board. DEO posts in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, SSC and the Ministry of Culture need 12th in Science with Mathematics.
What is the age limit for SSC CHSL?
18 to 27 years as on 1 August of the exam year, with 3 extra years for OBC, 5 for SC/ST and 10 for PwBD.
Is there a typing test in SSC CHSL?
Yes. LDC/JSA candidates take a qualifying typing test and DEO candidates take a skill test, on the same day as Tier 2.
Is there negative marking in SSC CHSL?
Tier 1 deducts 0.50 marks per wrong answer and Tier 2 deducts 1 mark in Sections I–III.
Are Tier 1 marks counted in the final merit?
No. Tier 1 only shortlists candidates for Tier 2.
Is there a probation period for SSC CHSL posts?
Yes. The notice says selected candidates are on probation for two years.
