Age is counted as on 1 July of the recruitment year.
Men: born between 2 July 2000 and 1 July 2007. Women: born between 2 July 1997 and 1 July 2007. These limits include the one-time 3-year relaxation announced on 5 January 2026.
Candidates from any state can apply. Vertical and horizontal reservation is only for domiciles of Uttar Pradesh; women from any state are considered for the posts reserved for women.
Men need a height of 168 cm (160 cm for ST) and a chest of 79–84 cm (77–82 cm for ST). Women need 152 cm (147 cm for ST) and a weight of at least 40 kg.
The running test is qualifying: men 4.8 km in 25 minutes, women 2.4 km in 14 minutes.
Under the service rules, persons with disabilities are not eligible for police service.

Minimum marks in the written exam: 30% for unreserved, 25% for EWS and OBC, 20% for SC and ST. The notice does not give a subject-wise split of the 150 questions. For the 2025 recruitment, about 2.33 times the posts (76,184 candidates) were called to DV / PST.

What is the age limit for UP Police Constable?
After the one-time 3-year relaxation of 5 January 2026: men 18 to 25 and women 18 to 28 as on 1 July 2025. SC, ST and OBC candidates of Uttar Pradesh get 5 more years (men up to 30, women up to 33).
Can candidates from other states apply?
Yes. Reservation is only for domiciles of Uttar Pradesh, so reserved-category candidates from other states apply as General. Women from any state are considered for the posts reserved for women.
