What's new in Notification 01/2025 corrigenda
- Corrigendum-2 (04-12-2025) made the qualifications for Principal, Assistant Commissioner, some PGT and TGT posts the same in KVS and NVS, so one application can cover both.
- The last date was extended from 4 to 11 December 2025.
- Corrigendum-3 (10-12-2025) raised KVS vacancies, e.g. PRT from 3,365 to 3,630, TGT from 2,794 to 3,069 and PGT from 1,465 to 1,606.

Age is counted as on the closing date of applications (4 December 2025 in the notice; applications were later extended to 11 December 2025).
A valid CTET certificate issued on or before the closing date is essential for PRT and TGT posts, except TGT Music, Art, Work Experience, Physical Education and Librarian.
Relaxations are not cumulative: only the highest one applies.
Selected candidates can be posted anywhere in India and serve a two-year probation. NVS teachers must stay on the residential campus.

Tier-1 parts I–IV are bilingual in English and one of 12 Indian languages; its level is Senior Secondary for PRT, graduation for TGT and post-graduation for PGT. Tier-2 is separate for each post, in Hindi and English (in the language concerned for PGT Modern Indian Language and TGT 3rd Language); its detailed syllabus is on the KVS and NVS websites. There is no re-evaluation.

Are KVS and NVS recruited through the same exam?
Yes, in 2025. Recruitment Notification 01/2025 covers both, and CBSE conducts it on their behalf. If you are in the merit list for the same post in both, you choose your preference between KVS and NVS online and are allotted one post.
How many teacher vacancies are there in KVS and NVS 2025?
After Corrigendum-3: in KVS, 3,630 PRT (including Music and Special Educator), 3,069 TGT, 166 Librarian and 1,606 PGT; in NVS, 2,978 TGT, 443 TGT (3rd language), 1,513 PGT and 18 PGT (Modern Indian Language). The notice has no grand total. Vacancies are tentative.
Is CTET compulsory for KVS?
For PRT (CTET Paper-I) and for TGT posts (CTET Paper-II), yes, with a certificate issued by the closing date. It is not required for TGT Music, Art, Work Experience, Physical Education or Librarian, or for PGT.
What is the age limit for KVS PRT, TGT and PGT?
Minimum 18. Maximum 30 for PRT, 35 for TGT and Librarian, 40 for PGT, counted on the closing date. Women get 10 years’ relaxation for these posts, SC/ST 5, OBC 3; relaxations are not added together.
Is there negative marking in KVS exams?
Yes. Tier-1 deducts 1 mark (one third of 3) per wrong answer. Tier-2 deducts 0.25 per wrong objective answer.
Is there an interview for KVS teachers?
Yes, for PRT (KVS), TGT, PGT, Vice-Principal and Principal. The interview is of 100 marks and the merit list gives 85% weight to Tier-2 and 15% to the interview.
What is the salary of a KVS teacher?
As printed in the notice: PRT Level 6 (₹35,400–1,12,400), TGT Level 7 (₹44,900–1,42,400), PGT Level 8 (₹47,600–1,51,100). NVS adds a 10% special allowance for residential duties. Allowances are extra.
Where does the 2025 recruitment stand?
Tier-1 was held on 10 and 11 January 2026 and its result came on 28 February 2026. Tier-2 was held from 27 to 31 March 2026. CBSE began declaring Tier-2 results in phases on 17 August 2026; interview call letters come after the schedule is fixed with KVS and NVS.
