Age is counted as on 1 January of the exam year.
Candidates must also meet the height and chest standards for their region and category.
These posts are not open to PwBD candidates, so there is no PwBD age relaxation or fee exemption.

Candidates from Ladakh run 1.6 km in 7 minutes (men) or 800 m in 5 minutes (women). Relaxed height and chest standards apply for ST candidates and some regions.

170 cm for men and 157 cm for women in general, with relaxation for ST candidates and some regions.
What is the age limit for SSC GD?
18 to 23 years as on 1 January of the exam year, with 3 extra years for OBC and 5 for SC/ST. There is no PwBD relaxation because the posts are not open to PwBD.
Is there negative marking in SSC GD?
Yes, 0.25 marks per wrong answer in the computer based exam.
How is the final merit made?
By computer based exam marks, plus any NCC bonus, among candidates who qualify in the physical tests and the medical exam.
