Age is counted as on 1 August of the exam year.
Maximum age 37 for unreserved men; 40 for unreserved women and for BC and EBC men and women; 42 for SC and ST men and women. PwBD candidates get 10 more years.
Reservation and age relaxation are only for Bihar domiciles. Candidates from other states apply as unreserved.
The checker uses 37 as the base limit and adds 3 years for BC/EBC (shown as OBC) and 5 for SC/ST. Unreserved women also get 40 — select OBC to see that limit.

Every Prelims question has a fifth option (E) to mark when you do not want to answer; leaving a question without any option also costs 1/3 mark. Interview: 120 marks. For CDPO, Financial Administrative Officer and Sub-divisional Protection Officer, the optional subject is a 300-mark written paper that counts in merit.

What is the age limit for BPSC 72nd CCE?
On 1 August 2026 you must be at least 20, 21 or 22 depending on the post. The maximum is 37 for unreserved men, 40 for unreserved women and for BC and EBC candidates, and 42 for SC and ST candidates. PwBD candidates get 10 more years.
How many vacancies are there in BPSC 72nd CCE?
The BPSC exam calendar of 14 August 2026 lists 1,189 vacancies. The first advertisement had more; 44 Sugarcane Officer posts were removed by a corrigendum.
When is the BPSC 72nd Prelims exam?
The exam planned for 26 July 2026 was postponed. The BPSC calendar dated 14 August 2026 lists 25 October 2026 (tentative).
Is there negative marking in BPSC Prelims?
Yes. One third of a mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Each question has five options; if you do not want to answer, you must mark option E, otherwise the unanswered question also loses 1/3 mark.
Can candidates from other states apply for BPSC CCE?
Yes, but reservation and age relaxation are only for Bihar domiciles. Candidates from other states are considered as unreserved.
What is the BPSC application fee?
₹100 for every category. Candidates who do not enter an Aadhaar number pay ₹200 more as a biometric fee.
