Age is counted as on 1 August of the exam year.
The upper age limit is 30 years, except CPWD and DG Lighthouses & Lightships (32).

Can B.Tech graduates apply for SSC JE?
For most posts, yes: BRO, DGQA, MES, CWC, DG Lighthouses and the Fisheries ministry accept a degree, and JE (Telecom) needs one. CPWD, Brahmaputra Board, CWPRS, Farakka Barrage and NTRO ask for a diploma.
Is SSC JE Paper II computer based?
Yes. Paper II is a computer based test of 100 questions for 300 marks in the chosen subject.
Does Paper I count in the final merit?
No. From 2026, Paper I is qualifying and the merit list is made on Paper II marks only.
What is the age limit for SSC JE?
Up to 30 years, or 32 for CPWD and DG Lighthouses & Lightships, as on 1 August of the exam year, with category relaxation.
What is the SSC JE salary?
Pay Level 6: ₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400 basic pay.
