Under the Agnipath scheme the Indian Air Force enrols unmarried men and women as Agniveervayu for four years. Selection is an online test, then physical fitness and adaptability tests, then a medical examination.

Age is counted as on the birth-date window in the advertisement (Intake 02/2027: born 1 July 2005 to 1 January 2010; not over 22 on the date of enrolment).
Men and women can apply; the number and employment of women is decided by the Air Force’s requirement.
Only unmarried candidates can be enrolled and they must not marry during the four years. Women must also undertake not to become pregnant during the engagement.
Percentages are taken without rounding up: 49.99% counts as 49%.
Minimum height is 152 cm for men and women (women from the North East or hilly Uttarakhand 147 cm, Lakshadweep 150 cm). Men need a 77 cm chest with 5 cm expansion.
Shortlisting and selection lists are made state-wise, by the domicile you choose. There is no category-wise age relaxation.

Candidates must qualify in each paper. Marks are normalised across sessions, and the cut-off for Phase II is applied state by state. Exercises follow the run after a 10-minute break.

Approximate monthly package from the notice. 30% goes into the Agniveer Corpus Fund and the Government adds the same amount; after four years the one-time Seva Nidhi is about ₹10.04 lakh excluding interest. There is no gratuity or pension. Risk and hardship, dress and travel allowances are extra. Ration, clothing, accommodation and leave travel concession are provided as per rules.

What is the age limit for Agniveervayu?
For Intake 02/2027, candidates born between 1 July 2005 and 1 January 2010 could apply, and a selected candidate must not be over 22 on the date of enrolment. There is no category-wise relaxation.
Can a 12th Arts or Commerce student apply for Agniveervayu?
Yes, for the Other than Science subjects test, with 50% in aggregate and 50% in English. The Science subjects test needs Maths, Physics and English in 12th, or an engineering diploma.
Is there negative marking in the Agniveervayu exam?
Yes. A correct answer gets 1 mark, a wrong answer loses 0.25 marks and an unattempted question gets 0.
Can girls apply for Agniveervayu?
Yes. The advertisement invites unmarried men and women. Women run 1.6 km within 8 minutes and do 10 sit-ups and 15 squats. The number of women taken depends on the Air Force’s needs.
What is the Agniveervayu salary?
An Agniveer package of ₹30,000 a month in the first year, rising to ₹33,000, ₹36,500 and ₹40,000. 30% goes to a corpus fund with an equal Government share; the Seva Nidhi after four years is about ₹10.04 lakh excluding interest.
When is the Agniveervayu 02/2027 exam?
The online test is on 22–23 September 2026. Applications were open from 6 to 26 July 2026. The Air Force plans the state-wise provisional select list in the last week of May 2027 and the enrolment list after 1 June 2027.
